Snow’d (a story for Mother’s Day)

My mother caught me

Eating snow-

 And she was furious

I didn’t dare tell her

I loved to throw my head back

And drink thunderstorm rain

Every chance I got,

Or that I ate apple seeds & violets

When she wasn’t looking.

  1. I can understand that snow has ‘germs’ for many reasons, particles from the car exhaust, animals, etc. But the fun of snow should always be the focus of parents. I am hoping those joyful memories of the newly falling snow are there, despite your mother’s rules!
